In 2018, MENTOR continued an exciting long-term collaboration with a UAE federal government authority to outsource the management of all training activities for all staff.
A full-time team of MENTOR's training experts were tasked with handling the entire learning and development function, namely the collection and analysis of training needs at a strategic and departmental level, development of an appropriate annual training plan, evaluation and recommendation of preferred training providers, supervision and coordination of training programs, and monitoring and evaluation of training programs to measure return on investment.
The programs were designed to align with the strategy of the federal government and to foster cooperation between ministries and federal entities. They were also aligned with the UAE leadership's vision and direction on achieving smart government services and adopting innovative thought and practices in the public sector.
The training programs were designed around the skills and competencies needed to improve performance, including specialized and technical skills.
Results of efforts in 2018 included creating over a thousand individual development plans, training 1117 out of 1209 employees for an average of 47 hours each and grand total of 56,705 training hours, through 345training workshops covering technical and behavioural skills.
MENTOR's team also liaised with educational institutions and universities on training, testing and diploma achievement for a select number of employees. In addition, a number of new initiatives were introduced including managers being involved with training their staff. A thorough evaluation process, including ROI measurement, has been put in place for each training program, and all training programs have run on schedule.
Feedback included 95% employee satisfaction with training programs, 92% employee experiencing tangible improvement in performance following training, and 87% managers experiencing tangible improvement in employee performance following training.
